C'est tellement triste, mais c'est tellement vrai.

Was Duolingo spying on me during my childhood. This brought back memories. During elementary and middle school I got bullied a lot and I escaped reality through the books I read. :*-(

Seems like a few or more Duolingers have something in common

How would one say "Books are my better friends"? This sentence might sound a bit nonsensical at first glance, but it could work in certain contexts.

I'm asking because:
"better friends" = "meilleurs amis"
"les meilleurs amis" = "best friends"
"mes meilleurs amis" = "my best friends"

It seems "mes" has the same effect on "meilleurs" as "les": it transforms"better" to "best". But how would one then say "my better friends"?

what is the difference of "better" and "best"?

Better is comparative "you are better than me" (generally only two things); best is superlative "you are the best" (usually more than two things).
