What's with the hand on the heart? I appreciate that lots of people do this in the USA when their anthem is played. Is the practice spreading?
i do not know about america but we germans usually do that. it is a costum / tradition (our politicians do it as well on the parliament when the hymn is played) and it was (as far as i know) not influenced by americans. could it perhaps be other way around?

I see a few politicians doing it in this video from 2017, but the majority not.
well some are still ashamed of their country because of WWII whats the reason if they don't... unfortunatly many germans think that patriotism is the same as rassism... so let me correct what i said earlier: the ones in germany who who have at least a bit of national pride do it usually.
