What actually is a "crown level"?

I switched today to a new rating system. It is called "crown level". And it says I have a level of 357. What does this mean and what is its equivalent fluency rating?

It's the sum of all the crowns on all the skills you have unlocked.

I'm afraid there isn't any direct equivalent to the "fluency" rating, which was flawed and confusing anyway.
