When does one use 'avoir l’impression d’être qch' and 'avoir envie de'? What is the difference between the two?
"Avoir envie" means more or less to want, more like to feel the need to have or do something.
J'ai envie d'une glace -> I want an ice cream.
J'ai envie d'aller au cinéma -> I want to go to the cinema.
"Avoir l'impression" is more like "it seems" or "to feel".
J'ai l'impression de devenir faible. It seems like I'm getting weak. I feel like I'm becoming weak.
J'ai l'impression qu'il manigance quelque chose. I feel like he is up to something. It seems like he is up to something.
