Personal 'a' question?

Nadie me conoce aquí.

Is the above sentence correct? Shouldn't it be "Nadie a me conoce aquí"?

It seems to me that 'me' is a direct object and a person so it should be preceded by an 'a'.

Here, the "me" is an indirect object pronoun so you don't need the "a". "Nadie me conoce" literally meaning "(Nobody/No one) knows me".

The personal a would go if you were to say "a mí"

Thanks for the replies. Seems my real problem is weak grammar!
