How to Redo Lessons with new Crown System?

Overall I don't mind the new crown system from the latest update. However, it appears that I can't redo lessons. I know I can "strengthen" areas, but you used to be able to redo specific lessons. I like redoing lessons until I feel like I've really retained the information. As of now, once I complete the lesson once, it makes me move on to the next. I realize you can "review" the lesson once completed, but it's not the same. Thank you.

I loved redoing lessons and strengthening specific lessons like all of you are saying over here. The old way was the gold way. Please enable the ability to strengthen specific lessons at the very least!

I don’t mind the crowns myself, but this is one of its unambiguously bad features. You cannot do targeted review. Utterly ridiculous non-feature. It’s actively anti-learning.

I too appreciated the old system that allowed one to completely redo a lesson. I used this feature to practice Duolingo with my preschoolers who weren’t otherwise at the same point in the program as me. Any suggestions for how to accomplish the basics in the new system with my little ones?

That was the main thing that bothered me when I started beta testing the crowns several weeks ago. I am really big on review, review, review, and I don't like to move ahead until I feel quite confident that I know a skill well.

I think you'll find, like I did, that the crowns system eases you into skills slowly enough, and gives you plenty of repetition, so that if you just do the old skills when you feel like it ("Ahh, 'adjectives' seems like fun today!") you won't ever feel overwhelmed and you will learn the skill well. I don't believe retention will be a problem if you give the new system a chance to work.

I'm not sure if you work for Duolingo or not, and I'm not trying to badmouth the company. I personally love Duolingo. But I disagree with you. I just don't see the point in not allowing someone to redo the same lesson. That doesn't seem like a hard thing to implement. "Strengthening" skills is NOT the same thing as completely redoing it. Most recently I was working on 'professions' in Spanish to English and I was seeing new professions every single lesson, never seeing a profession from the lesson before. After about 4 lessons I realized I have no idea what I learned a few lessons ago. I love Duolingo. PLEASE re-implement the ability to redo lessons. That was the cornerstone of my method. I would redo the same method up to 6 times until I felt completely comfortable with that content before moving on. Why would you take this option away? It just doesn't make sense.
