The Crown system is a good idea, but ....

It really needs to improve on a few areas. My suggestions are :

  • Diversity - When i did Basics crown 1 "Soy un hombre", i did not expect the same sentence in crown 2. Each crown needs to be first of all harder, second of all different. (it is hard to make Basics 1 harder, but at least you can practice different words/sentences)

  • Practice button should work based on the Crowns - when you press it, it should generate exercises based on each crown of each lesson you have reached. Thus once completed it will give result (completion) in your tree. For example you press Practice and you get combined exercise of Basics 1 crown 5 + Basics 2 crown 1. (presuming you are at those levels at the time of pressing, and they are the oldest practices lessons)

  • Practice button customization - it would be nice to have the ability to customeze the practice to a certain point. For example I want to focus on complex lessons like Verbs, which can keep lessons like Basics/Animals/Food etc. golden without having to go back to them.

  • Platform intergrity - all platforms should be updated at once - Android/Windows 10/Iphone/ Web. And all of them should be working together. Engagement will fall if Android app practice is not recorded when you open the website.

  • Premium features for advanced learners - no one who is casual will want to pay for Premium, but advanced learners will want to pay, as long as Premium offers more than Add free.

Surely, I agree with you. There are many things yet to improve this new system.

Hi, this is the Spanish forum, for getting help with Spanish grammar, vocabulary, resources, etc. Could you please edit your original post and use the drop-down list at top left to change the topic from "Spanish" to "Troubleshooting"? That way it won't clutter up the Spanish forum, and the answers you get might help others who look in Troubleshooting for discussions on how Duolingo works.
