Texto Sounds Japanese :D

EN "SMS" = FR "SMS". FR "texto" = EN "text message".

For those wondering about "that" vs. "which", here is a simplified explanation. When a restrictive clause follows, use "that". What is a restrictive clause? It is a clause that defines (and therefore restricts) the meaning. I.e., what text? The one that he sent me. When followed by a non-restrictive clause, use "which".

What kind of 'text' is a "texto"? A text message? Any kind of text?

It's an informal word for a text message.

All right, thanks.

The DL translation only has "the text" which is a bit ambiguous.

I do not feel strongly about this, but I prefer that no one tries to correct my use of English. I am dubious about learning French through English, but find Duolingo addictive. Is there a cure?
