Post your translations below, and if any of them are missing from our Incubator list of accepted translations you'll earn yourself a lingot for helping out.

You can do as many as you like, so don't worry if you're still a beginner; just pick the ones that look doable. If you copy the Norwegian sentences and add them to your post alongside your translations, that makes it easier for me to look them over.

Lykke til!

  • "delte meninger" would be interpreted as divided opinions here. "har delt" = have shared.
  • ...that they had not come home.
  • While "kjæresten" can translate to "boyfriend" in isolation, "hun" points back to a female subject.
  • "Meteorologene" is plural.
  • There's nothing that would translate to "quite" in "Legen var sliten".

  • "sur" is more in the vein of grumpy, sour, cranky...
  • "Everything before ten o'clock is -too early".

tusen takk! damn, sure "divided". All I saw was å dele... sur: hm if sur is more grumpy/sour, what would 'mad' be in this case, 'gal'? "Everything before ten o'clock is too early".: can't spot the difference, maybe I forgot brillene mine, can you tell me?

"Myndighetene" are the authorities, while "regjeringen" would be the government.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, but in my mind "The authorities" means "the cops" who have a reputation for liking sugary foods. Takk for hjelpen!

April 12, 2018

"adapt to" ?
"learn to live with" ?

Anyway, I think I get the gist. Thanks!

Det er ikke vi norskkursmoderatorene som bestemmer typen oppgaver du får. Vi lager setningene, og Duolingo velger hvordan de skal presenteres.

Jeg er helt enig i at dere burde få skrive mer på norsk.
