People are leaving my group, why???

I have had a french group for about 6 months. A lot of people have left in the past weeks and no one new has joined. That is really rare because usually I have people rejoin instantly. What is going on???

Probably just an anomaly. There is really no other reason or collaborative effort to ditch you, I'm sure. With that said there could be some reasons to leave a group:

  1. Desire to try another group.
  2. Your group has too much competition.
  3. Your group has too little activity.
  4. They could be done with French.
  5. Maybe they are leaving duo altogether.

That's all I can think of. Bonne chance !

Makes sense! Ill seehow the next week goes. I want a more people, only 7 now! I'm tempted to leave my own group just to check out other groups, but do I lose my admin status if I leave, and then come back if I wanted to?

I think as long as it's your group you would retain status though admittedly I'm not 100% sure. As far as getting people to join your club, you might consider posting a club invite in the forum and maybe add some details about why your club is awesome so that people join. Do a search for some posts for examples.

I can't say for your group specifically, but I leave groups when many of the group members are inactive. If that's not the case, then it's probably a coincidence

Its hard to say, just happened last two weeks. We have about half really competitive, 25% do the daily minimum and the rest not very active. Maybe it will pickup soon. I wonder what happens if I leave my own group, is there no more admin or someone else becomes admin? I want more people in mt group lol.

I've also noticed that my group has not increased over the past 2 weeks. I usually average 30-35 members but after my last 2 purges of 'those who don't practice' I'm down to 17 (I remove people who remain at "0 xp/0 streak" for 7 days )

Sunday (April 8), I posted a code for joining my group - no one has joined yet. In the past there would be a quick jump in membership, but not any more.

I think something has actually gone wrong with the clubs/leaderboards.

Yes, sounds like my situation. I have like a policy of 70XP per week to stay in, so every weekend I remove users who aren't active, but usually within a few minutes new people join. So my group stays pretty active. My group limit has always been 15 though, I didn't know you could have more. Also, I only see clubs on my phone, is there a way to access clubs on the computer?

A few weeks ago they increased the number of members to 50.

I believe Clubs are only accessible on phones.

I guess all we can do is wait and see.

One question. Is the name of your club now displayed as "Weekly..." with the number of members?

It was called "I love French" but I just left that club today, just seeing what happens if I leave, but I couldn't come back, because when I tried to find the club I couldn't even search club. I only had the option to type in a code or allow Duo to randomly place me in a club. Strange, so I restarted a new club, but I only have one person so far. I guess many changes are going on, will see what happens.
