My streak and my progress was lost, though I practiced everyday... TWICE!

So I reached a 76 day streak and about 44% in fluency when duo was updated and when I came back on, most of my progress was lost. So I did the tests on some of the skills to try and reclaim it, but before I got everything back it decided to update again. Now even more of my progress is lost, and I can't test out because there isn't a function like that for individual skills anymore, and I can't use the other test out option because it says that I've already passed the check point.

Please fix this.

This is strange! It sounds like a glitch, as I know you were supposed to keep streaks through the updates! Maybe try contacting Duolingo support directly to see if they could help you restore your streak?

You can press this link https://www.duolingo.com/contact and once there, press "find help here" (in blue), then scroll to the bottom of the page and press "submit bug report." I couldn't find any customer service phone numbers for you, but i'm not sure if that's what you need. I also encourage everyone to up vote this post to give a higher chance for admins/mods to see this, so then maybe they can see this and tell Duolingo themselves for a higher chance to fix your issue. :)

This has happened to me also. Slightly different circumstances, but I think French was actually 'updated' twice in about 3 days. There was an update which greatly expanded the French content and then the Crowns update, which in my case I pressed the 'accept' button (regrets I've had a few!). I have a 400+ streak and lost it twice in one week, it was only the streak freeze payment that saved me. But I have seen my work 'disappear' after I have been paid in crystals. I have found myself going back to Duo either on the computer or the IPhone many times each day to ensure that my work for that day has not been lost.

I am hoping it is a glitch that will iron out (also hoping that Crowns will iron out as well)

I have noticed something similar. I have completed a lesson in the iOS app, and then the progress doesn’t show up on the main screen after successfully completing the lesson.

Worse, I tried doing the lesson again from the web, and it seemed to work. Updated my Weather 2 lesson in French to show I earned a crown. Then I went back to the app and it showed up there. Then, a few hours later it disappeared from the app. And the web too.

Something is pretty messed up. It seems like our lesson record is no longer being updated correctly. I’ve filed a bug report but jeez.

Aha, I have got the blighters now, because I took screen shots of my progress, before, during and after. I have the evidence that it has gone back to where it was before, even losing my day's streak, despite opening the chest. Knew I would get them in the end.

Sadly the whole thing to do with Crowns has tried to introduce too many changes simultaneously. This is going to take a lot to sort out. A lot of people are disillusioned, I have read on other posts that people have lost the day's progress, their long streak and find the whole thing quite complicated. If Duo don't act quickly this will become a fiasco.

Ik ook nog niet en gebruik al enkele dagen het nieuwe systeem. Ik merk alleen ik er minder lang oefen en met de kronen denk ik dat ik op termijn zal afhaken uit frustraties. Voor Frans heb ik nog tinycards maar voor Engels niet dus benieuwd hoelang ik het nog uithoud Ik zet het nederlands omdat ik nog niet kan schrijven in het Frans (brouwser vertaald)

Yikes! This may sound a bit silly -- but I was quite happy that I had a 38 day streak and then I clicked on an email to try a new system... although I practiced a few times each day -- I ended up with a 4 day streak and percentages was gone .... that makes me feel that I have simply lost the momentum of my work.

I enjoy duolingo, but find the new system of wiping out my accomplished work counterproductive to spurring myself on --

That happened to me yesterday too, I lost plus-or-minus 150 xps for the day on the tenth day of a 30 day streak effort. This never happened under the former system. Please fix. thank you.

I have tried to leave a comment and plea for help five times now. Seems very disorganized. I too lost all points for yesterday (about 150 for the day) of a 10 or 11 day streak. New system is very frustrating and reporting problems even more so and time consuming.

Hi! Was this on web or in one of the apps? I am trying to understand your issue, but I am not sure what you mean about progress being lost. Are you referring to the Crowns update? If that is not the case and you genuinely lost your streak because your points were not recorded, you can submit a bug report to us here

In the iOS app. I have completed all 4 of the animals in French basics twice, and when I go back, it shows that I have only completed 1/4 and I have to start again.

It was in the app. You know how each skill has different lessons and when you complete them, you complete the skill? Basically, most of the skills I completed "lost" all the completion. To earn back the progress, I have to do everything over again, which took me forever the first time.
