There is no option to report this sentence. It will not accept "Las plumas". How can it be more flexible when there is no report option.

Go here : https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new : in the drop down list make sure you change it to 'Report Bug'. And you tell them what language and what lesson it was in and what the question was. A screenshot might help them too.

They probably wanted “los bolígrafos”, but you should report it because “las plumas” should be acceptable.

There are apparently about 20 different words for pen in various Spanish-speaking countries. Duolingo should accept all the most common variations. I don't know why they changed the reporting system to eliminate some of the reporting options for some of the sentences.

Yes, very true. But you think they would accept it, but maybe they want you to say it they way they teach it.
