1111 Days Streak

1111 days streak seems almost magical hence the post. Talking of magic, Duolingo has had a near magical influence on me - taking me to realms unknown and introducing me to cultures, most can only dream of. I have learnt a lot, as also forgotten a lot, but most of all, I have had an amazingly good time. The forums are so good, and fellow learners so gracious in sharing their knowledge, that one feels really overwhelmed and happy. So thank you Duolingo and my fellow learners in enriching my life beyond measure and wish you all the best in your respective endeavours.

Congratulations! Wow, it's really impressive. I'm getting close to a 1000 days streak and I am very excited to reach this achievement. As you said, Duolingo has an incredible influence on us (in my case I'm a native Portuguese speaker learning English). It always was (and still is) a very helpful tool. We have to be extremely grateful to have such powerful (and free) platform that allows us to learn a foreign language! In fact, I'm thinking about posting a video on YouTube when the time comes and tell a little bit about my accomplishments on the language thanks to Duolingo.

I've been studying so hard through the years and that kind of thing is something really rewarding for someone like me, who didn't have the conditions to pay for any courses/platforms and still could be able to learn a foreign language. It really motivates me to study even more and always improve my communication skills. And I am completely sure that you are perfectly able to do the same! Duolingo wasn't the only resource that I have been using all these years, but it's certainly one of the most important. When I started here I didn't know anything at all (not even the basics). It was fundamental for me, just like the pillars of a house. I truly hope you succeed on your path of learning another language. Trust me: if you are a beginner, there is no place like Duolingo to learn the basics. Soon enough, gradually you are gonna be improving a lot. Once again, thank you for your message.

I thought I was good when I maintained a 108 day streak. I was 6 xp short when time ran out at midnight. My son, hearing the news, had a nice way of looking at it, "A 108 out of 109 is still pretty good." I just started another streak; it makes it fun to find a way to get it done everyday. Congrats on the amazing length of your streak. Curious if you had to use your streak freeze a few times.

Thanks for your good wishes. Tough luck on losing the 108 days streak. Am sure you will build it up. Regarding the streak freeze , yes, I have used it many times especially when travelling. In between they had started the weekend amulet for 20 XP and I used that quite often. So between the weekend amulet and the streak freeze, I was sort of insured for 3 days :)

I'm on 1081 as I type this. I agree. For whatever reason I've found the same numbers more of a milestone than digits with a zero. I'm far more excited for 1111 than 1110.
