Where I'm from in central Canada we call it a "semi" (short for "semi-trailer" or "semi truck"). This map (https://www.freightwaves.com/news/a-look-at-local-lingo) says that this is common; "tractor trailer" and "eighteen wheeler" also work.

That is a subset of the genre "truck". The French "camion" applies to *any vehicle that is designed to carry heavy loads," not just semi trucks or 18-wheelers.
