No. We can still access to Test Out mode.

Step 1: Click on the lessons and press Start.

Example: www.duolingo.com/skill/kl/Phrases/1

Step 2: Delete the number part and replace it with test

Step 3: Press Enter. Now you can Test Out.

Though, after Test Out, you can only earn a crown.

I reach the link but then I cannot click on the "Test-out" button. Really strange. Happening across browsers but works on the Android app

Can I test out of Levels? It takes a really long time to get to Level 5.

Not currently, but you don’t have to get to Level 5 right away! We in fact recommend you don’t get to Level 5 all in one go. Level 5 is there to show that you have practiced the words in that skill a ton and probably don’t need further practice on it for quite a while. It’s completely optional. We definitely think we can do a better job of encouraging you not to binge on one skill, though, since that can feel really repetitive. And of course we take the blame for motivating you to love and aim for gold skills!

We are considering options for users to prove their existing knowledge on skills so they can be placed at the right difficulty from the start. We also want to make it more satisfying to complete each level (and not necessarily get all the way to Level 5).

If, as you say, "Level 5 is there to show that you have practiced the words in that skill a ton and probably don’t need further practice on it for quite a while," a number of your longtime users would probably recommend that you award level 5 to people who previously tested out of early levels and perhaps completed the entire tree. I also have to say that I've never seen anyone ask about testing out because "it takes a really long time." It's far more usual to see something like this: "I've known the basic phrases in the first sections of the tree since childhood (or for many years or since I took x in school, etc.). If you awarded me credit for my obvious skills at early levels, I'd be willing to re-earn a small number of my previous points just to be sporting, but the amount of time and effort you're asking me to put in with no gain whatsoever is beyond reasonable. It's not the time, it's the egregious waste of my time."

Ok, for me the problem is that my fluency is way past my level in the app, and I get bored slogging through levels, and I work faster and faster, and I make careless mistakes. The problem is I have to repeat every item I missed because of carelessness until I have it perfect, which is not how communication and fluency works.

We should have an option to test a bit farther ahead so the test is worth paying attention to, so we can work at learning on our actual learning level.

Well, I wanted to complete the english tree, since I learned a lot of english outside from duolingo and I can only get to a special point before I have to do the lessons anyway, no matter what I already know. And I just wanted to habe one golden tree to be proud of what I learned the last 2 years. It is not soo important after all, but still.
