"Bedarf" = "need", "demand" = "Nachfrage". "demand and supply" = "Nachfrage und Angebot".

Is there a need for ice cream? Probably not, but there is demand. "demand" = "Bedarf" looks wrong to me.

"Forderung" is countable, "Bedarf" and "Nachfrage" are not. So it would have to be "Wir wissen, dass es eine Forderung gibt" or "Wir wissen, dass es Forderungen gibt". So this is not about demand in general, but about a specific demand or demands. I am not sure this matches the English sentence.

I thought this was weird too. In a business context I have only seen "Nachfrage".

Would "kennen" work in place of "wissen"?
