Another level up, no fanfare, no lingots
Up to 23 in French, my third level up in a couple months (Japanese and Spanish being the other two) with no fanfare and no lingots.
I certainly don't need the lingots, but I do miss the Medieval Times "ta-da", and the little flash screen.
That's all. In the end, I don't care about it one way or the other, but if that little celebration has gone the way of the dodo, I wish DuoLingo would just make it official.
I recently leveled up to level 12 in Hebrew. Nothing like your level 25, but same experience. No lingots, no acknowledgement and no music.
I think somewhere in crowns it did say something about removing lingots when leveling up. Kind of disappointing! You earn lingots now by crown levels.
Congratulations! Let's all give this guy a lingot, so he gets 25.
I noticed that the celebration/lingots/gems seemed to appear at very low level victories, but vanish when I reached higher achievements. French 25, nothing. Spanish 3, victory! Spanish 8, nothing.
CONGRATULATIONS! You are my inspiration -- I am literally your fan. Doesn't get more fanfare-ish than that.
AND, even though my Profile correctly displays my new French level, my Discussion header French flag does not.
Congrats on reaching level 23! The flag updating on the discussion board sometimes delays. And I too miss the Congratulatory message - So Congratulations BryanLouiselle!
Maybe they change from 25 levels to 5 levels of crowns.
It is possible that the levels (25) in the discussions wil be replaced with the number of crowns for all the skills.
Is there a celebration when reaching the next level of crowns?
i think -- not entirely sure -- that if you level up while doing Stories or timed practice, you don't get fanfare. I think -- but again, not entirely sure -- the fanfare accompanies leveling up from 10-point XP only. Would love some clarification though!
There are so many people ahead of us that it is hard to congratulate everyone.. When you get to 25, you will get the bells.
Yeah, I think they need to bring level up's back at some level. It adds to the fun, and it really doesn't take away from anything :)
Bryanlouiselle, I reached level 25 in Portuguese and there was nothing to show for it, lol. It used to be that you will be given a sort of I call it certificate, though it isn't, that you can share on fb, if you want to. It's a shame really, seems like everything has gone with the introduction of the crown. I'm not as motivated as I used to be.
