저의 vs 제

I am using both Duolingo and Lingodeer (which is a great app btw) to learn Korean, and I've noticed that some things that Lingodeer teaches are very different from what I've learned on Duolingo. Mainly that Duolingo teaches that to say "My" it would be "저의" and Lingodeer says that it is "제" For example, "My book" would be "저의 책" on Duolingo and "제 책" on Lingodeer.

This confuses me a lot. Are they both acceptable? Is it a formal/informal situation?

Can anyone help me with this?

제 is a contraction of 저의. 저의 is usually not spoken, but is more common in writing.

I'm pretty sure that you see both "제" and "저의" as you get further into Duolingo

I think they are the same. Because you also say 제 이름은 blabla 입니다. What also mean My name is.

Maybe you can ask this question to the maker of Or search on their website. I'm sure you're not the first onewho thinks this is complicated. TTMIK has a lot of video's on youtube about this kind of questions and their native speakers with great English speaking skils. If not, you can send them a mail and they react within max. 2 days (my experience).
