Was ist wunderbar? Ich bin neue in Duolingo und verstehe nicht alles über Duolingo... Das ist ein test.

Du nicht verstehe Deutsche?

*Du verstehst kein Deutsch?

Unbelievable ! I cannot express my gratitude to the German team, you have kept my dream of someday speaking this great language alive!

I wish it was brought back into junior and high school education.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/kay.lee.831

I second that. I was looking forward to learning it in my junior year but I was just informed they don't offer it anymore :(

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Connor497855

That's because German isn't in the Top 10 most used languages anymore, it's ranked 11th or 12th now.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/JoaquinMur14

Most used? How is that a measure of the importance of a language? How about these five reasons to learn German: Goethe, Nietzsche, Schiller, Rilke, Heine. I learned Italian primarily to read Italian poetry in the original. Where is Italian on the list of "most used" languages?

Also if you study physics, engineering or even music, expect to encounter a lot of German. Number of speakers doesn't judge the importance of the language

Really true words, I agree with you completely

Really impressive number... 44 million. And to think that without me it would only be 43,999,999 people, feels like I really made a change.

Congratulations to the German team and good luck, soon 50 million!

Just gave you 4 lingots for being level 25 in 4 languages.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/HerrArbo

How many are active?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/gSY55q97

That is an interesting question.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/wxf163c

How many have finished ? This number is wichtig too

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/gSY55q97

...wichtig too ;-))

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/hanspersson

What is "finished", to begin with? I completed the German tree long ago but don't consider myself finished.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/-Josh.

Not sure how I could stop learning German in a lifetime.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LugoschPierre

How many have not only completed the tree but obtained all of the level 5 Crowns. The Duolingo people must know this. I am almost at level 5 for all the possible crowns but has taken me a long time. Anyone out there done the whole thing in German?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/hanspersson

I've done all the German from English tree to 5 crowns, all the German stories and all the English from German tree to 5 crowns. Currently working on the French from German tree.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LugoschPierre

Thanks hanspersson. I am thinking that Duolingo itself must keep statistics on numbers reaching "Golden Owl" status such as yourself. Any idea of how I could obtain that information?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LugoschPierre

Thanks Tiger. I did this but the information is not clear. It seems that hundreds of people have earned multiple "Owls" (like 30 or more!) Not clear what the difference is between a Golden Owl and a Golden Tree is. I am looking specifically for how many individuals have completed the German course.

Well done, German Team! :-)

I always wanted to learn German but was never able to. Duolingo changed that. Thank you so much to the German team for giving me the opportunity to learn this beautiful language. Vielen Dank!

What did you feel your Swedish level/proficiency was after completing the tree?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/George--Smith

Anyone got any idea how many people have completed the German course? or how many have reached level 25?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/gSY55q97

I really appreciate the existence of Duolingo because it allows me to learn german for free whenever I want (although I am aware that Duolingo itself won't make me fluent, but that's a good start!) Let's go DEUTSCH <3
