German has reached 44 Million learners!
The German course for English speakers has reached 44 Million learners! Congratulations to the German team!
Was ist wunderbar? Ich bin neue in Duolingo und verstehe nicht alles über Duolingo... Das ist ein test.
I second that. I was looking forward to learning it in my junior year but I was just informed they don't offer it anymore :(
That's because German isn't in the Top 10 most used languages anymore, it's ranked 11th or 12th now.
Most used? How is that a measure of the importance of a language? How about these five reasons to learn German: Goethe, Nietzsche, Schiller, Rilke, Heine. I learned Italian primarily to read Italian poetry in the original. Where is Italian on the list of "most used" languages?
Also if you study physics, engineering or even music, expect to encounter a lot of German. Number of speakers doesn't judge the importance of the language
Unbelievable ! I cannot express my gratitude to the German team, you have kept my dream of someday speaking this great language alive!
Really impressive number... 44 million. And to think that without me it would only be 43,999,999 people, feels like I really made a change.
Congratulations to the German team and good luck, soon 50 million!
What is "finished", to begin with? I completed the German tree long ago but don't consider myself finished.
I always wanted to learn German but was never able to. Duolingo changed that. Thank you so much to the German team for giving me the opportunity to learn this beautiful language. Vielen Dank!
Nice! Thanks German team! I am so thankful I can learn this amazing language!
What did you feel your Swedish level/proficiency was after completing the tree?
Anyone got any idea how many people have completed the German course? or how many have reached level 25?
Good job german team. I am in a german class and we use Duolingo a ton to help us grow in the language outside of class. It is a wonderful tool to use. Dankeschön!
Glad to start this language, I hope, once I can speak a little more to have someone to practice with...
i can begin to talk to you the way you like, i am a beginner, too. what is your native language?
LOL My ancestors are from Germany So i am with German heritage. I wanted to learn my old language. My twelve year old daughter uses this and loves it. So proud of her and how far she's come
I really appreciate the existence of Duolingo because it allows me to learn german for free whenever I want (although I am aware that Duolingo itself won't make me fluent, but that's a good start!) Let's go DEUTSCH <3
