Is there a more casual way of saying, "In reality"? For example, in American English I might say something like, "Really, I would never wear clogs," or "I would really never wear clogs." Is there in equivalent?

Might be a regional thing, but I think "echt" fits that place:

  • Echt (waar), ik zou nooit klompen dragen - Really, I would never wear clogs
  • Ik zou echt nooit klompen dragen (more common then the one above) - I would really never wear clogs

Another possibility is "werkelijk" or "werkelijk waar", which both sound a bit more formal then "echt", in my opinion.

Kan «eigenlijk» ook? Bij voorbeeld: "Eigenlijk zou ik nooit klompen dragen"

That would be "Actually, I would never wear clogs" or something similar.

Can one say: In realiteit zou ik nooit klompen dragen?
