Clock vs. The Clock

Exercise "House 2": I had a question marked wrong which I believe should be re-assessed as it is misleading. The question asks the word for "clock" so I answered "horloge" and was marked incorrect as the correct answer was stated as "l'horloge". I am well aware of the article, however, going forward I recommend that the question be posed as "the clock."

I have had previous questions in other exercises marked incorrect when I added an article for basic words which led to my choice of no article in response to the question.

Thank you for this post. The specific image exercise has now been fixed on the contributor database. It may take some time for the system to update.

For future reference, all image answers will require an article, no matter what the question asks for.

I've had the same thing happen recently in the French course, but with other words. You don't know if they want the article or not, and if you don't guess correctly they mark you wrong. It was frustrating because it was a picture exercise and there's no way to report feedback (other than "Picture doesn't match text" which is not the problem).

We can report bugs: https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204728264-How-do-I-report-a-bug- Posting here in the forums doesn't do a lot of good because the developers don't see every discussion in the forums (or sentence discussions). The volume is just way too high for them to monitor discussions.

For me, it's actually much faster if people report image errors in the French forum since we monitor it fairly regularly. However, there is a time delay between fixing these on our end and the Duo system getting updated.

Pro tip: a French article will always be required for those types of image exercises. These exercises are fairly new and the database has not been adjusted to reflect the hint phrase (what you're asked to translate). But all the answers for images, as far as I know, require the article.
