Spanish Club Code JAK9X2 - For anyone active each week!
Since Duolingo stopped making clubs available to search and join, I thought I would post here. Having been frustrated as a member of clubs where everyone including the administrator is inactive I have created my own - Spanish 140.
The goal is to earn 140 xp or more per week or risk being removed. Since I want to see clubs working again, for the time being anyone serious about learning Spanish and who stays active each week (I.e. earning any amount of xp) will not be removed.
So come join - Code JAK9X2 and lets have some fun learning together!!
I just joined and am looking forward to sharing tips, ideas and conversation. My spanish is pretty limited, however, I am working on improving. Feliz domingos!
Great news. Welcome, I have already seen you and look forward to your participation. It doesn’t matter how much or little Spanish you know, as long as you have fun and we all help each other out. Also stay active each week, or like Lexi B, let me know if you are going to be absent, otherwise you risk removal on sundays when I remove a number of inactive members to make way for people who want to learn Spanish. Bienvenido y buena suerte!
I think it's a great idea Practice makes perfect! I've never done this before how do I join?
Hey Arelene1. Go to the club section in your mobile app, and I think there is an option to join club with Code, or “I have a Code”. Something like that. Then just enter JAK9X2.
Hope to see you there!
I couldn't find a way to join on my computer or my iphone. It only lets me invite.
Hey Melyndi, I'm sorry! It did fill up very quickly but I am determined that this remains an active club and so not only will members who are not actually interested leave regularly, but each week on Sunday I will be removing the inactive members to make space for serious Spanish learners. I hope you keep trying, and hope to see you in the club.
I have only been studying for 3 weeks, would the club be too advanced for me at this point?
I tried to find the option you mentioned, but the club page changed a week ago and I don't see a way to join a club. Bummer
Hi there, I'm sorry you had difficulties. As I said earlier, because I want this to be an active club, during the week some members will leave of their own accord if they find Spanish is not for them after all. And then on Sunday, I will remove inactive members to make way for people like you who want to learn and are willing to be active in earning XP at least once a week. I hope you keep checking back because it doesn't matter if you have been learning for 1 day or 3 years, anyone is welcome. Good luck!!
Cool! I would love to join when space becomes available. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. =)
Would love to have you! I am always removing inactive members so if you are interested let me know and I can coordinate a removal with when you are likely to be online and able to join. Otherwise Duolingo automatically fills any empty spaces in the club with new members within a few hours of space becoming available.
Alright! Thanks! Mi familia va a ir de vacaciones en dos semanas. It’s unlikely I will be active during that time. If you’re still up in a months time I’d love to join then!
No problem. I can either try and get you in before and leave you there whilst on vacation - I would not remove anyone inactive for a reason! Or, reply to this thread when you are back and ready to join and we will get you in then.
Hi there husidr. I do create free spots each week by removing inactive members to make room for active members. Two people from this thread, for example, have joined the club as a result of enquiries such as yours. It is an active club for all levels from absolute beginner through to level 25. If you are interested I can make room for you at a time you are likely to be online, or you can try your luck on Sunday afternoon (EST) which is when I go through the member list and start removing people. Let me know, and hope to see you in the club!
