Grammar of If...then statements in german

So I was looking at the german subjunctive forms, and for konjunktiv 2, I had some questions about the grammatical structure of if...then statements. In the sentence "Wenn ich schneller führe, hätte ich bestimmt einen Unfall," I understand the second part of the sentence's grammar, but the first part, particularly "führe" confuses me. What tense is this? Is this part of the sentence in the konjunktiv 2 as well? Thanks.

führe, in your sentence, is in the "Konjunktiv II - Präteritum".

yes führe is the Konjunktiv II Präteritum of fahren,

but it is also "1.person singular (informal) Präsens" of the verb führen which means to guide or to lead.

Ok, follow up question, in order to create this subjunctive mood of "If I drove," would the praterium or another past form for konjunktiv 2 be used? Or is there another form that translates more to "If I had driven"? (Plusquamperfekt)

If I had driven = Wenn ich gefahren wäre... If I had eaten = Wenn ich gegessen hätte...
