Issues maintaining streak
I’ve noticed that several times when I practice Duolingo in the morning - and it said I met my daily goal, I still get an email telling me health is full in the evening, and if I don’t practice again, it will count against my streak. In the past, I guarded my streak by “buying” the streak protection, but that seems like it should be unnecessary. Also, I just noticed the Duolingo Plus 48 hour streak protection was added, but I don’t really understand how that works in conjuction with the “normal” streak freeze protection. Or is it supposed to be a replacement?
I think these may be two separate issues. Streaks have nothing to do with your strength in your lessons. Practicing your lessons does, but even if you don't practice that still all the time, it shouldn't count against your streak.
I was only commenting on streaks, not strength. My expectation is that if you practice in the morning and meet your daily goal, you should not receive a notification in the evening "reminding" you to practice - and if you don't, you'll lose your streak.
My spanish crown level suddenly changed from in excess of 200 to 86, and my lesson levels fro 3 to 1. Why?
Duolingo just rolled out a new Spanish tree with a lot more content. That's why it seems like you lost progress. It's an entirely separate issue from what OP is describing.
Hi, this is the French forum, for getting help with French grammar, vocabulary, resources, etc. Could you please edit your original post and use the drop-down list at top left to change the topic from "French" to "Troubleshooting"? That way it won't clutter up the French forum, and the answers you get might help others who look in Troubleshooting for information on how Duolingo works.
@Lrtward - thank you for pointing out my mistake. This was my first time in discussions.
Are you using Duolingo in offline mode, as Plus users can do? That would probably be why, because if you're using it offline and never go online to sync the data, the servers have no way of knowing you practiced that day.
