It sounds like she is saying mauve, not noir. There is a distinct v sound.

What is the difference in pronunciation between "le" and "les"?

In the sentence "Le canard noir mange du riz", "le" sounded as though it was "les" so I ended interpreting the voice as "Les canards noirs mangent du riz"....I got it wrong because I could not distinguish "le" from "les".

The difference in pronunciation is slight but you can hear it. "Le" phonetically sounds more like "luh" and "les" sounds closer to "lay."

I'm hearing "du brie" not "du riz"
