My Crown level was dropped because the changes in Duolingo on 5/31. Why?

I was suggested posting the dropping crown level issue here.

My courses were changed a lot today as well. My Crown Level went down to 140 from 175 too. I don't mind getting new courses, but it should not decrease my crown level. It is very discourage because I keep practicing daily.

Many of my courses were changed to level 0 or level 1. Most my courses were level 3 and level 2. A few of the courses got to level 4 and level 5 before. I was working to get all my courses to level 3.

Don't know the criteria of the changes. Looks like most of top half courses were changed.

I don't mind getting a new set of courses, but I thought the crown level will not be dropped like the old percentage. Is this no drop statement not true anymore?

Are we guinea pigs again?

Note: I use English and Chinese to practice Spanish. The English version were changed, not the Chinese version. The English version was 175 and the Chinese version is 162. Now the English version is much lower.

2018-06-08 finally I got back to 175 crown level. I like the shorter courses.

Are we guinea pigs again?

Again? We have been, and shall continue to be, guinea pigs for as long as Duolingo has A/B testing.

How do I find out which group I'm in? I hope that I'm told what they are testing instead of arbitrarily changing my stuff and confusing me.

The changes were demoralizing and made me feel like I had lost ground and have to do simple things over again

I don't mind reviewing them and learn some new vocabularies in those new simple courses. Also, I found out the new level 0 topics has 4 courses, and it will skip a couple of courses if I did not have any errors.

Reducing the crown level seems to punish the hardworking users even the crown level and the lingots do not really worth anything.
