Norway is one Helvete of a place!

Norway. The land of breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, well-organised infrastructure and dugnad. It really sounds like a heavenly place, no matter what Jo Nesbø’s novels tell us. Yet when looking at the names on the map of this great Nordic nation, you may easily mistake it for a gateway to the fiery pits of Helvete. And no, Hell is not one of those names. Discover the diabolical nature of Norwegian place names on reddit.

Happy Duolingoing, everyone!

If anyone tells you to "dra til helvete", you'll have to ask them to specify further. :')

Thank you for the link, Mari. It's nice seeing you around!

Zelda says hi back, but Zevs is busy knocking over my orchids in the hunt for a bumblebee. Not my favourite sign of summer, but I'll take it!

Hell, Norway is a pretty boring little town about 40 minutes east of Trondheim. If you ever fly to Trondheim and drive or take the bus into the city, you'll pass right through it.
