Translation:Do you want water?
They belong to the two different 'you' conjugation forms, tú and usted.
tú quieres, usted quiere

I wonder if "would you like some water" would work, given it's the same idea.

Yikes! I'm so glad I'm not in this alone. Practice everyday at least an hour or more but still discouraged when something just doesn't sink in. Thanks for tips and support.
