What is the difference between 'me' words like мои, мой and моя?
Here are some of the words, мои and мой are pronounced almost identically so how would you tell them apart? help would be much appreciated.
Unlike English, where the word "my" is genderless and numberless, in Russian you must change the word depending on the gender or number of the object(s) possessed(regardless of the gender of the speaker).
Моё = my (neuter), ie. моё яблоко
Моя = my (feminine), ie. моя мама
Мои = my (plural), ie. мои яблоки
Мой = my (masculine), ie. мой папа
Меня = me
Thanks alot for clarifying, also I found this page on masterrussian, it has a handy declension chart: http://masterrussian.com/vocabulary/moy_my_mine.htm
