Reading Portuguese books using Amazon Fire

Hello

I have heard that you can use Amazon Kindle tablets to read books in a foreign language and you can get an instant translation of any words you don't understand just by touching them.

Does anybody know if this feature also exists for Amazon Fire tablets? If so, do you know if Portuguese (preferably European) is a supported language?

I'm thinking of getting a fire (for various reasons) but would really like to use this feature.

I have a few Portuguese books on my Kindle. I open them on my Fire Tablet and it works just the same. In fact, it's easier to highlight words on the Fire.

I'm on the way to work, so I can't give a long response, but let me know if I can clarify further.

So after looking at the feature, I can't find any reason the built in dictionary wouldn't be able to handle EP the same as BP. It also works on Android tablets. If you click and highlight text you can translate from most common languages.

Thanks all. I've discovered that the Kindle App can be downloaded on pretty much any device and this gives the functionality - I have downloaded this on to my Apple and Android devices and am happily translating Portuguese text now.

Just about every tablet, smart phone, and e-reader on the market have that feature, not just the Kindle Fire.
