There is much more Dutch to English than English to Dutch

For some time I have the impression that there are a lot more excercises where you have to translate a dutch sentence into english than the other way round (about 2/3 to 1/3). If I remember rightly, it has not always been like that. It would help a lot more to improve my dutch, if the rate was at least 50:50.

When you reach higher Crown Levels in a skill, you will get more difficult exercises, including more translations from English to Dutch.

But it takes SO long to reach higher levels, especially anything higher than level 3.

At level 4(going towards 5), you get 50% Dutch to English. The rest is split evenly between English to Dutch and the "dictation" with the occasional "fill in the gap"(I have mic off so I don't do the "repeat and wait" part). It's somewhat more than the basic levels but it's still dominated by English.

Also, when practising golden skills, I get 2-3 "say this in Dutch" questions out of 17-20. So, like, no, not even remotely balanced, regardless of the skill level.

You can remedy this yourself by doing the reverse tree, and study English from Dutch.

Back in the olden days of Immersion, English to Dutch Immersion was surprisingly active. I remember there being a small group of translators with ridiculously high levels, 400+.

When was there Immersion for Dutch? Duolingo seemed to make it pretty clear that they would only roll it out for the courses that they developed in-house.

There was English for Dutch speakers Immersion. I think all the English courses had it.
