Duolingo insists that principales in Spanish be translated as principle

“Los actores principales” should be “The principal actors” but Duolingo insists that it is “The principle actors” I reported this one about 3 weeks ago and then it came up again today. I can’t think of any case where “The principle actors” would be correct usage. Am I missing something?

I think you're right.

Principal = main.

Don't worry about it, Duolingo has many weird and incorerct translations.
I came across incorrect translations, reported it, and that's it.
I don't have the impression that Duolingo is paying attention to it.

You are correct. There are a number of such anomalies in Spanish and in several other languages. I reported this some months ago....

Best to just swallow it and move on. If you wait for a correction you may not survive long enough to finish the course.
