Are There Any Messaging Apps People Use To Fellow German Learners?

I have a question that I have been researching for a while and could not find an answer. Does anyone here talk with other German learners or German people to test their skills on an app? If anyone could help me be part of this, I would be very happy.

Danke :D

There is also HelloTalk: https://www.hellotalk.com/?lang=en It's an app that allows you to chat (or exchange audio messages) with native speakers. The native speakers can also correct your mistakes in the messages while you are chatting.

The limitation of this app is that, in the free version, it only allows you to use one language pair. You can change a language every two days, but I don't really know how that works, precisely. I haven't tried it yet.

Also, I don't know which one is better, HelloTalk or HelloLingo, but I will definitely check out HelloLingo too :) @Gryphowl Thank you!

Can you do this at a beginner level? Or can you recommend that when you speak German a little better. I won't say I'm a beginner, because I do this for a while and I had some German lessons in school.

I have seen many people at HelloTalk who are at a beginner (or even zero) level. So it's totally possible.

I think, other apps and websites should work the same...

Personally, I prefer to start using something like that when I feel more or less sure I can actually say most of the things I want. But it's really up to a person because everyone has a different learning style:)

I've used ConversationExchange to find language exchange partners (my Spanish for their English); it works for any language.

http://www.conversationexchange.com - you create an account and then search for practice partners. You can search by various criteria such as gender, age, nationality, hobbies. You can search for pen pals, audio chat partners, or video chat partners. You can use their internal messaging service if you don't want to give out your email address.

Also check out iTalki, weSpeke, Busuu, and goSpeaky.

Hi, I didn't find anything helpful yet. People in those sites (other mentioned) won't accept friend request easily. I'm learning German in self-study with books, apps and such things.

Some of the apps don't require you to be a friend with someone on this social network to chat with them. So you can try just texting different people with an offer to talk. Someone will definitely reply to you:) I do it all the time on HelloTalk.

Hm... That's strange! I say keep trying. Maybe you should change the text of your introductory message? I don't really know what it is, so it's difficult to recommend something. But maybe make your first message more neutral, friendly, and ending with a question? This way you will kind of actively encourage people to reply to you.
