German tree completed!

After just over 2 months, I have finally reached it! I had a goal to make it before I go on a cruise and lose my streak, and I’m 8 days early.

Life is short. German is hard.

Nop German not hard!,

Gratuliere! Enjoy your cruise!

Congrats! Enjoy your cruise! I'm curious though, now that you've finished the tree, are you going to max out all the skill or are you moving on to other means of learning German?

I’ll probably max out the skills. Some of them at least.

Hearty congratulations, that was very quick. Enjoy your cruise.

What is a German tree, may I ask? I am slightly ignorant and also new to Duolingo.

That's all the exercises in Duolingo German completed! Good luck - I am 21/2 years in and still not completed but trying to learn it well as I go.

The courses are called Trees. So German tree is the entirety of the German course on Duo. Similarly there's French Tree, Spanish Tree, Klingon Tree, Chinese Tree, Dutch Tree, etc. =)

Just to be extra clear, there's the German from English tree and the English from German tree (and loads more), and they are all different trees even if they sometimes involve the same languages in more than one tree.

If your main focus is the German from English tree, then the English from German tree would often be referred to as the "reverse tree" and is often useful since it will have more translation to German, and also (since it's a completely independent course) it will most likely contain some vocabulary that the opposite tree doesn't have.

Gratuliere! Um weiter zu üben, schlage ich vor, dass du jetzt den Englischkurs für Deutsche machst um das gelernte Deutsch weiter zu vertiefen und wiederholen.

Ich bin nicht sicher, ob ich das machen will.

Congratulations!!!

Wow - that is wonderful. I hope that I get to go on a cruise when I finish my tree!

Gut gemacht!

Impressive, that's very fast.

That's really good!

Das ist sehr gut!!

Geil! Das ist eine tolle Leistung. Sprichst du Deutsch im Alltag?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/PatCantDuo

Ich spreche es nicht, aber ich denke gern auf es. Keiner würde mich verstehen, wenn ich Deutsch spreche. Something about that might be wrong.

Herzliche Glückwünsche! Genießen Sie Ihre Reise

Congratulations!

Congratulations (Im confused though as its only showing you at level 13 for your German) and enjoy your cruise. I've been at this for four months and have only made it so far about a quarter of the way through the German tree.

Learning German from English for me is not at all easy.

Very odd, and 7000-odd experience points is only going to get you about a third of the way down the "new" tree (the extent of which is, I must admit, wearing me down a little...)

Herzliche Glückwünsche!!!

congratulations pat i hope i can get my tree done also

Congratulations for the dedication! I don't think you are supposed to power through the tree this quick. At least that's how I am. To me, learning a language takes a ❤❤❤❤ load of time, and if I would finish the tree in such little time, I don't think I'd learn anything long term. Just my 2 cents. Are you able to pick a very easy book and understand most of it? Have you tried? I'm just curious of what sorts of results one might get after finishing the tree (which to me seems extremely long, since I reached questions 1 in two and a half weeks).
