Latin American Movies
The other day I saw here, in this section, someone asking for recommendation of good movies in Spanish, I wanted to help him, but I wanted to be sure so I made a little research and found this: A guy made a few lists of the "Best of Contemporary Latin American films" on Letterboxd. Compilations of titles from every country of Latin America. So, for the guy who asked and for others who want to practice their Spanish while watching a good movie, I'll post the lists here so you can take a look at them:
1) Mexico and Guatemala: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema/
2) Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panamá: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema-1/
3) Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema-2/
4) Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema-3/
7) Chile and Paraguay: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema-5/
8) Argentina and Uruguay: http://letterboxd.com/deephardy/list/best-of-contemporary-latin-american-cinema-6/
I hope this can be useful.
yo encontrado esta pagina "List of Websites Where You Can Watch Spanish Videos with Spanish Subtitles or Transcripts Online for Free" http://howlearnspanish.com/2012/09/spanish-videos-subtitles-free/
Great! I personally recommend Argentine movies, I loved them some time ago and keep on watching them constantly, in the list provided I have seen every second, approximatelly, movie, they are just great, and I need to say it is thanks to watching movies in Espańol Latino that I know so well this language...
...Se me acaba de antojar una peli;)
I like also like Argentine. Take a look to the Uruguayans...Y Si se te antojó una, hay tienes muchas para escoger. Glad you liked it!
Yes, thanks, I think I will consider watching Uruguayan ones too, until now I have watched only 25 watts and Miss Tacuarembó, both good:) Cheers!
I've watched some of these movies (Como agua para chocolate, Y tu mama tambien, Motorcycle Diaries, and Machuca). They were all pretty good movies. Another that I would recommend from Spain is La lengua de las mariposas, especially if you're interested in history. It takes place during the Spanish Civil War.
Así es. A mí, personalmente me encanta; pero supongo que, aunque es una Co-producción entre México y España, como la trama no se desempeña en México por eso no está incluida en el grupo.
I've watched it. it's a good movie, sad, but good. Thank you for sharing it!-
Kinda. Well, it is, pero tampoco es que está tan rebuscado. Both country are in South-America (and quite close from each other) and that's the way the lists are sorted by. :)
It's not a big deal. It's just a kind of "other random countries" category. :)
Thanks for the link mate!
"Perú-Bolivia- Paraguay" y "Argentina-Chile-Uruguay" hubiese sido más lógico, creo, pero dado que las filmografias de Chile y Argentina son tan grandes, hubiese hecho la lista muy larga, probablemente. Creo que ahí está el asunto. Quedo con la duda: where are you from?
Thank you so much for the lists. The other day I posted this website to the other discussion, but I will post here also:
Thank you for share that one! He visto unas cuantas de esas y el ranking me parece bastante acertado.
I was not the person to inquire, but this will be a GREAT step towards better listening comprehension. MANY thanks!
Today I turned on a local Spanish language television station and turned on closed captioning. It worked!!! The captions were in Spanish. :) Not stoppable like movies but still useful.
I don't know about Neflix, but some of those movies on the lists you can find it easily on the internet, even on Youtube ( I know it's not as comfortable as Neflix, but it's useful) I can share a few ones (If Doulingo allows it) if you people are interesting. Let me know. And yes, "El Laberinto del fauno" es genial. No me canso de verla. :)
