Genki II for AP Exam

Hey all,

I'm been using the Genki textbooks to self-study Japanese, and I'm hoping to take the AP Japanese Language and Culture Exam in about two years. I'm currently on Genki I, but I plan to start Genki II by the end of this year.

Are these two textbooks sufficient for the exam? I know that Genki only teaches about 317 of the 410 kanji needed for it, but I've also heard that the AP test is similar in level to the JLPT N4 exam, which is about where Genki II will place a learner after completion of the book.

Have you looked at this which also includes a sample test?

Judging from the test included, I am assuming that Genki self-study would not be sufficient - it seems like you'll need pretty strong listening and communication skills, too.
