Duo's rational for the new Crown system
I know this is a very basic question, but has a Duo representative ever actually explained in detail the rational for all the changes that make up the new crown system? I'm still plugging along, still finding Duo very helpful, but find myself wondering about the thinking that went into these changes. Clearly a series of trade-offs were decided on. Like "it's more important that we improve this than we continue with that", and I'd love to hear all the "this's and that's" if you know what I mean.
The link given by LeeBrownst1, gives another link to a megathread, which means that there are a lot of posts in them. When you can't view all the posts, then it might be that your connection can't handle it or your computer. So there is no easy fix I'm afraid
I like the crown system for the most part. I just wish they'd bring back the test out key. I don't need to get a ton of xp for it. Just give me ten, or whatever. But I don't want to do 40 lessons of that one concept I already GET. I don't understand why some of the lessons that, in my opinion, don't need as much practice, have more levels than the ones that do.
A marginal improvement, but I still see no benefit of Crowns over the older "fading skills" idea, which was much more useful.
I like knowing what skills are fading too. You can access that here: https://www.duome.eu/yottskry/progress I can see from your entry that you are getting early skills to level 5 before you've opened up later skills. I find it more fun to get all the skills unlocked at once and then go back to focus on the grammar skills that I can tell are weak. In my opinion, getting to level 5 on early skills is a lot of clicking for pretty easy vocabulary. The content does get more awesome at higher crown levels on more difficult skills.
