Translation:Nos gusta este plato caliente.
Seems that "spicy dish" should have been used for "picante" and "hot dish" for caliente?
I think caliente is referring to hot as in temperature rather than spiciness here. ie it's hot food, not cold.
But if you are translating from English to Spanish, it would make a lot more sense to translate it as picante rather than caliente. I can't imagine many people saying they like a dish because it's not cold, but they might well say they are enjoying a spicy curry or something like that.
The first definition SpanishDict shows for spicy is "picante". It doesn't show "caliente" as a defination for spicy. English at times uses "hot" for "spicy" but it doesn't look like Spanish does.
