I included the tu: "Por que tu tienes mi cartera roja?". I get that it is preferable to leave out the tu, but is it also grammatically incorrect?

I also wrote "Por qué tú tienes mi cartera roja". I don´t understand why this is not accepted?

It should be accepted. Report that response as correct to DuoLingo. DL is having a few issues getting all the possible correct answers as they develop new exercises.

I'm having a problem with "por qué tiene mi cartera roja" - Tiene -which is correct - help!

I think it depends if it's a tu or an usted you are talking to. But it doesn't want that information, so just say tienes. It's a dumb one.

Your response is also correct. One could use either "tiene" or "tienes" in this sentence, depending upon how familiar you were with the person who has your red purse.

Same question again. Something's wrong here. There has to be a " tu "

In my opinion the "tú" is necessary...if someone had my purse I think I WOULD be emohasizing the "tú".......

I have found that often when I make a mistake of vocabulary, Duolingo will put in a synonym for the word that we have been taught. As if they are saying, you made a mistake and your further penalty is more confusion. :( Now that I have found them out, I add the word to my own vocabulary list in the hopes of learning it also.

I also included the tu, just as I often add yo, ellos, etc., but was marked wrong as well. Can't argue the point as I am a beginning student, but is it wrong? Seems like it is correct everywhere else.
