Russian - People 2 unlocked by itself

This happened about 3-4 weeks ago. I got on, looked, and suddenly "People 2" was already done and on crown level 3. I think they got rid of it, because it went back to grey. But when I unlocked that level of skills, it was red again! Is there a way to reverse it so I can do the lessons, or should I just deal with it and go to level 4 instead?

I have experienced similar things (although I haven't seen unlocked skills go back to grey).

A bug report seems appropriate.

This has happened to me before on the German tree multiple times but I haven't really thought about it. I don't know what causes that to happen's strange to me.

Anyways, I don't think there is a way to reverse lessons, but you could just work from Level 3 and keep practicing until you feel comfortable with those lessons. Even if you reach Level 5, you can still practice beyond that until you're confident.

You can take a look in my comment in this thread about crown L5:

In your special case:
There is not a red dot behind your skill (would only be the case for crown level L5):

As you are only on crown level L3, you might have better luck to register several new words, than in the above linked (crown L5) thread.

If this fails to do four more single lessons (= "crown sessions"):

Can you try this:

The test-out however, probably does not work anymore (as stated in another thread about another tree), as the new A/B "skill crown test-out" code has been re-engineered, rolled out end of June, and replaced the old "lesson test-out" code.

Actually for your case (crown level L3) it might still work to also reset the lesson variables as I can see with your first of five lessons ;)

I surely will not put my hand into fire ;)

Your extended user profile is a bit corrupt, for any reason (usually tree updates result in converted, but corrupted, skills).

Is currently the reason that no NEW skills are unlocked, as your skills Sport and "Weather and Nature" have the same problems.

  • lesson_number 2
  • skill_title "People 2"
  • skill_url "People-2"

People 2

  • name "People 1" (seems to be wrong as name is expected to conflict with your previous skill!?!)
  • short "People 2"
  • title "People 2"
  • url_title "People-2"
  • num_missing (lexemes): 28 of max 35 num_lexemes
  • missing_lessons 4 (one of five is successfully being recorded)
  • level_sessions_finished 1 (one was started)

Either staff resets your skill to L0 (you can not do that for yourself) or they change their new "test-out" code that it also resets/updates the old lesson variables accordingly.

Let's see how it is going when you complete the missing four lessons/sessions and what happens next with your "next_lesson" variable.
The two other skills Sports and "Weather and Nature" are just fine in your personal extended profile, as "lessons_missing" and "num_missing" are both set correctly to 0.

In your case: You need to finish next:

  • Shopping: +5 lessons
  • Adjectives 1: +7 lessons
  • Past & Infinitive: +6 lessons

If you choose to submit a bug report, you may want to include a link to this thread and my further explanations.

We actually had similiar problems in other Spanish or French trees for other users, but we could solve them earlier ourselves in the first weeks of June (before the new A/B code rolled out).

Users had reported back that the old "skill lesson test-out" (which is not available anymore) SOLVED all their tree and extended user profile issues!

This was also the case for my updated EN-PT tree.

I have updated my above text.

This has happened to me as well - when I have reached Russian "People 2" skill in the tree, it was already unlocked at level 3 (without me doing a single lesson). I have reached level 3 in "People 1" before though, so I guess I got hit by the bug described above.

I have filed a bug report a few weeks ago, but got no response. Is there anything I can do to reset the skill level of "People 2" so I can actually go through it from the beginning?
