10 xp back?

Just in the middle of a session. First 5 lessons were 13 xp, and the last 3 lessons back to 10 xp. Anyone else?

It happened to me today in Esperanto. It's OK with me as long as it does NOT mean that my performance is suddenly crummy? So were the few days with 13 XP per lesson just a glitch on the part of Duo?

I don't know. It was nice to get more xp, but it didn't change the number of lessons, or the degrees of difficulty. Just keep going!

Hi, this is the Spanish forum, for getting help with Spanish grammar, vocabulary, resources, etc. Could you please edit your original post and use the drop-down list at top left to change the topic from "Spanish" to "Troubleshooting"? That way it won't clutter up the Spanish forum, and the answers you get might help others who look in Troubleshooting for information on how Duolingo works.

JohnD, Happened to me , too. I recently changed my daily goal from 50 to 10. At that point, the worth of my lesson went form 10 to 13 points. I am not complaining , just curious. Streaks and lingots are entertaining and challenging. Should I expect it to change back to 10 xp per lesson?

Me llamo Cat. Mucho gusto! Personalmente, yo creo que es un "glitch". Adios, mi amigo nuevo. Buenas suertes.(M/F?)

Have a lingot for a good question !

Same. I liked getting more XP though.

I just tried a first exercise on a topic and a late exercise (after four crowns) on a different topic and both returned 10 xp. It seems like a complete reversion to the former system.

I do duolingo for at least an one or two every day and i am the one person who this stinking glitch would not give me extra xp. All these days of people getting 13xp. I only got 10xp and there were plenty of long streaks of right answer. I am not even surprised that Duolingo didn’t give it to me. That’s sort of how my life is. I am very unlucky. I’m not unfortuate. I have a good life but no way am I going to ever catch a break. I’m used to it so its no big deal. I have been to hundred of parties or jack & jills or anything like that. I buy lots of raffle ticket each time if the party has them. Not one stinking time have I ever won a raffle. Never. Not even on things that are great. There’s always someone else that threw in one ticket. I play bingo all the time for years. I play several cards. Again never have I won. I don’t even get close to winner. I might get 3 in a row. Not exciting. I can’t even get 4 in a row so that i’m excited and waiting with baited breathe for the next ball. That’s my life. I laugh about it now but i didn’t used to. Once i excepted it i felt better. I guess its better to not come close to winning then to just miss and have to think “damn if I only did this one thing” i can sleep peacefully because i know that it doesn’t matter what i did i wasn’t going to win so it’s not my so back to where we were. Only 10xp for me even though it seems everyone else was getting 13xp. It’s funny. It really is.

I don't mind they test these things, but I hate it they don't say anything about it. Why suddenly 13 xp? Why back to 10? Just post a message that your testing some duo thingy and I'm okay with that (or won't be but at least I know why and how).

I prefer maintaining the historical reward of 10 xp per exercise. To attain level 25 in any course, most of us had to complete 3,000 exercises. Increasing the xp per exercise to 13 reduced the requirement to 2,308, a substantially diminished accomplishment.

I understand that iPhone users were an exception, receiving as many as 15 xp per exercise, and confess no understanding of DL's underlying logic, but do believe in the importance of consistent milestones. For most of us, attaining level 25 means attaining 30,000 points via 3,000 exercises. That should remain constant.
