Hi! Literal translations of movie names never go well, so other than The Silence of the Lambs, none of these movies are officially translated like that. Some, like the guardians and the toy story are simply katakanized (ガーディアンズ・オブ・ギャラクシー and トイ・ストーリー). But good effort anyway, I'm sure you learned a lot of new vocab. :)
Great work! By the way , "Gone with the Wind"'s japanese title, "風と共に去りぬ" is very famous, it is often said the best translation. It is classical and beautiful japanese phrase while it sustains original meaning.
(and I'm glad if it will be put numbering. because I think that it becomes easy to talk. :D)
The silence of the lambs is translated "羊たちの沈黙." But it is "子羊" ? I've not known the real meaning.
Thank you, numbering due to my selfish. but it is very good.
about 6. I'm sorry!! You don't need to change it. I wanted to say your title is wonderful. 子羊 is the true meaning, right? I could know the real meaning of the title by you. Thank you again.
about 5 Gone with the Wind. I think "消える" instead of "去る" also is interested. When I read it, I thought that "oh, I see."
You are a wonderful translator, and I love your idea!
However, I think some minor corrections are necessary. 5 and 6 are famous Japanese title so your translation is great!!
１．Lord of the ring = 指輪の主 (ゆびわのおも） We usually say "しゅ" or "ぬし" without saying "おも" when using "主" as a noun.
２．Men in Black = 黒に人たち （くろにひとたち） "に" is used as an adverbial usage, so it is grammatically incorrect. So, in this case I think that "の" in adjective usage is good. It’s better use “男“ than “人” ,because人＝people (include women). “Men in black” means "a man wrapped in something black" So If I were you I want to say it's「黒衣の男」or「黒装束の男」.
３．Fight Club = 戦うの会所 （たたかうのかいしょ） "クラブ" is already established as Japanese and there is a word “集会所”, but there is no way to say "会所".
４．Back to the Future = 未来に復帰 （みらいにふっき） "復帰" is the word we mainly use to return to status and affiliation. So I think「未来への帰還」is better in this case.
７．The guardians of the galaxy = 銀河の保護者 （ぎんがのほごしゃ） “保護者“ sounds "protection obligor for children" for Japanese people. So I'm wondering if it's better to say “守護者” instead of “保護者“
８．The beauty and the beast = 麗人と獣 （れいじんとけもの）
It’s nice translation!
（FYI：「美女と野獣」has already been recognized as famous as a Japanese title.）
９．橋は川の上クワイ （はしはかわのうえクワイ） Because Kwai is the name of the river, I think that it is "Kwai River".
１０．Almost Famous = ほぼ有名 （ほぼゆうめい） Sounds nice!
１１．North by Northwest = 北西の北 （ほくせいのきた）
（FYI：「北北西に進路を取れ」The title also very famous.）
１２．The big Lebowski = 大レボワスキ （だいレボワスキ）
It’s great title!
１３．The toy story = おもちゃの物語 （おもちゃのものがたり）
１４．When Harry Met Sally ＝ ハリーはサリーに会ったとき （ハリーはサリーにあったとい） ”が” is better than “は”.
１５．American beauty ＝ アメリカ人の麗 （アメリカじんのれい）
Because this is the name of a kind of rose, I think that "人" does not need it.
１６．The sound of music = 音楽の音 （おんがくのおと）
１７．It's a Wonderful Life = 素晴らしい生活です （すばらしいせいかつです）
It’s better to say “人生“ than “生活”.
１８．Big Hero 6 = 大英雄六 (だいへでおろく）
「六大英雄」This is the Japanese word order.
You are excellent!!
Exactly! I also wanted to say that.
In the sentence the subject is first, if it is one word the subject is the last. I think that the Japanese word order.
What do you think? (^▽^)/
3.about Fight club. I've ever listened about somebody's translation, that is "拳闘倶楽部." There are various translations. so fun.
