When Duolingo asks you to type this in from English to Welsh, it says "the male teacher". But, when it asks you to translate it from Welsh to English, I wrote "the male teacher", but it wouldn't accept it. It wanted me to just write "teacher".

Now, obviously I could get used to this, but it still confused me a bit as to why the words used when translating from Welsh to English are different from when translating from English to Welsh.

If anyone has anything to say about this then please say it - I'd be very grateful!

Duo should not be asking you to translate 'the male teacher', although that is in the database a valid alternative answer to yr athro - the default translation of yr athro is 'the teacher'. On the other hand, if you do answer 'the male teacher' it should still be accepted.

It may be that Duo has a bug. If you are using the app, make sure that you are using the latest version.
