Duolingo stories for Japanese
Hi, does anyone know why has not been any adaptation for Japanese ? Or if you know a site that can help you to talk in Japanese with other people in order to improve in this language?
I'm guessing since the Japanese tree still has some issues, they're looking to fix those first; don't think stories are high on Duo's priority list atm. As an alternative, satorireader.com is great imo, they've got all kinds of stories with built-in vocab exercise tool thingy.
As for talking to people in Japanese, perhaps HelloTalk or speaky.com ? Don't have any experience with those though so not sure if they work/are effective.
Thank you so much! You don't know how much of a help your informations had been!
japanese tree is still in beta. Once that tree goes live, the first priority will likely be a more comprehensive tree. I suspect stories may be a way off. The course needs new work first and they're short of contributors right now.
There still aren't stories for Italian, which was one of the launch languages. Then there's stuff like Dutch which came out of the Incubator about four years ago and has had no sign of receiving stories. Plus, the Japanese tree is one of the least comprehensive, so it would be hard to do stories based on it. I don't expect we'll see stories for Japanese for years, if ever, personally.
Hmm, now that I think it through you're right. I had the (wrong) impression that Japanese is very popular since it has 7.38 M learners but looking at other languages they had far more learners than I expected. Anyway, thank you for letting me know!
