"We are never sad."
Translation:Nunca estamos tristes.
I have a question, since "Nunca" seems to indicate that the subjects in the sentence are never in the state of sadness, would it be possible to use "somos" in this case, i.e. "Nunca somos tristes"?
Even though they are expressing that they’re never in that emotional state it’s still something that refers to feelings which are temporary so the answer would be no you would not use “ser.”
I had the exact same question. I guess I have to modify my understanding of when to use estar for temporary things + all feelings.
As i understand, somos is more for a permanent situation and estamos is more for temporary situations. Feelings are akways temporarily even if you qualify them with never
Very useful. How do you access this seemingly very useful archive. I have no idea. Is thete a secret Duo world behind the matrix?
Here's an old Duolingo post asking the same question, with answers: https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/104233/Jam%C3%A1s-VS-Nunca.
