Question About the Practicality of Duolingo
One thing about Duolingo that worries me is a lack of applicability. People seem to say "Duolingo is working great, I'm getting through lessons really well," or "My grades in school have really improved," which are both great (especially the latter one), but what about in the real world? Duolingo isn't stellar at listening skills, and speaking tests are rather abysmal (though I don't really know how one could conceivably create a good oral test on the internet, and Duolingo seems to be doing their best). I had a lot of trouble in France with actually using my French. This could just be me, though. What do you think?
