Word list full of duplicates and wrong about last study date
Last night I tested out of a few of the many new lessons that have been inserted into the Spanish tree. Words I encountered yesterday and today include "vestido" and "zapato". My word list says I last studied those words a year ago. My word list says I last studied the word "tenis" 2 minutes ago. In fact I did not, although I can guess correctly that it means tennis, I don't recall ever seeing this word before.
My word list contains over 1000 words. These include many, many duplicates. For example abrigo studied a year ago with part of speech = noun, and abrigo studied a month ago with part of speech blank in the list. Based on sorting by part of speech and scrolling down the blank results, I estimate that there are a couple of hundred nouns that have part of speech blank in my list that are duplicates.
Since spaced repetition is central to duolingo and the size of the word list is an important estimate of vocabulary, it's disappointing to see that both of these are so wrong.
Electric Penguin, My word list is different every time I look. Please don't let it bother you. You know what you know. What I don't know is how DL keeps up with all of our information. Maybe the algorithm is a little off. Who knows? Love , Cat
Maybe a couple of lingots will ease the pain.
You should report it.
The words page could use other users data, which might suggest that there is a security flaw somewhere in the Duolingo web server software that could be exploited by black hats.
