Peço or Pede?

Hi everyone, I’m just trying to figure out when to use these two words. I keep getting them wrong, using one when it should be the other. If anyone can offer an explanation with examples, thanks in advance!

Eu peço - I order
Ele/ela pede - he/she orders.

It's the conjugation, basically.

Yep, but if you're learning Brazilian Portuguese you don't need to worry about the "tu" and "vós" forms. Brazilians still sometimes use "tu" but they will always use the ele/ela/você conjugation as in Brazil, if you use it WITH the conjugation it's like saying "thou art, thou hast, thou wilt" etc in English.
