How obsolete is 'icke'?

Swedish speakers, just how obsolete is the word 'icke' in place of 'inte' - 100s of years? A few decades or more? Tack.

I agree with the above replies, I have heard it used it in speech with my Swedish friends, when using it like "Folk som är icke-svenska talare" (people who are non-Swedish speakers). It's also in songs like Christmas carols and hymns etc a lot, e.g. you're bound to hear it if you go to a Swedish Christmas service or Lucia. But, as you probably know, it is not at all obsolete to -understand- because when talking to Norwegians or Danes, you'll need to understand that it substitutes for "inte". After a while of hearing it, you stop even noticing that it's "ikke" and not "inte", like you stop noticing Scots saying "a wee walk" or whatever.

As an independent word, maybe 50 to 100 years?

As a prefix, it's not obsolete at all. Words like icke-rökare, icke-våld and icke-binär are often used.

It's used as an independent word in formal documents such as judicial documents.
