Swedish Club in Colorado

Hey everyone, we've started an official Duolingo club in the Denver metro area for people learning Swedish from English. If you're interested, visit https://events.duolingo.com/denver-swedish/ as we'd love to meet you, have some fun and practice Swedish. Events are free and are designed to help us all learn together (none of us are Swedish masters). If you have ideas for what you'd like to do, or questions about joining, don't hesitate to reach out!

By the way, you may be interested in learning that Gizmoduck is called Gizmokvack in Swedish. :) My favourite is Patoaparato in Spanish.

Really? Everyone I've met from Sweden is either in Stockholm or somewhere east and though I felt drawn to Malmö they were all like... eh too close to Denmark :) I love all things Scandinavian so I don't care of course (well.. all things but surströmming)

I am in Salt Lake City, just across the Rocky Mountains, so when I visit Denver I'd like to visit your club.

Very cool! Let me know. I'd love to meet you! How long have you been studying Swedish?

3 or 4 years. Not much to show for those years which is why your Swedish Club interested me. I think I need something that approximates a 'full immersion' experience.

I couldn't agree more. It's been really hard because there isn't much of a Swedish population in this area of the country. I have been really trying to find more ways to immerse myself too. I've made a few online friends in Sweden which has been great. Also, you-tubing Swedish movies is super helpful. It's a little disheartening at first because they speak fast and often with slang, but it's nice to hear the language more fluidly. Anyway, I'm here if you'd like to practice :)
